1. Stretch before getting out of bed.
That’s right, a full body, arms over your head, stretch. Trust us, it feels amazing. Wiggle a little and stretch some more. Unless a child is screaming “POTTY!”, you should be able to find the 15 seconds…
2. Queue up a great song.
We all have a go-to song to get us going – one that you simply cannot resist moving a little in your seat when you hear. Play it while prepping lunches, brewing your morning coffee, etc. Right now we are loving “Applause” by Lady Gaga because, you know, there should be more applause for what we do every day.
3. Prep whatever possible the night before.
Lunches, bookbags, your daily schedule, etc. Prep it. You will feel on top of the world if you manage to start your day with a plan instead of a whirlwind of chaos. Yes, you can have a glass of wine while you prep. We think that actually helps.
4. Take 5 deep breaths.
Breathe in, breathe out, Kemosabe. You know the trick. Breathe and reflect. You will immediately feel better and be more present in your surroundings. We’ll end with this quote from the great Oprah:
“Breathe. Let go. And remind yourself that this very moment is the only one you know you have for sure.” – Oprah Winfrey
