Most kids are back in school now (and I am SO jealous since my track-school kiddos are running around my house in chaos), and after spending two fun-filled weeks with kids at home many parents have started dreaming of summer camps to avoid having to live through it again! Okay, maybe you just want to make your kids happy and keep their brains from turning to mush with a great day camp. Whichever the reason, here are five great educational day camps you should check out:
Bits, Bytes & Bots offers a variety of classes for ages 6-14 that are centered on bits, bytes and bots! Classes range from robotics to stop-motion animated movie making, and even game creation! The camp uses the Lego® Mindstorm® NXT robots and stay on the cutting edge of technology.

Colorado Academy Summer Camps allow for students to enhance their academics or even just pursue an area of interest! Many of the academic camps can even be combined with participation in other Colorado Academy Day Camps!

Denver Montclair International School offers day camps to children ages 3-7 that is geared towards introducing students to new languages through learning, sports, activities, and fun. No prior experience in other languages is needed, and courses are offered in French, Spanish, and Mandarin.

Mad Science camp offers half and full day camps that allow kids to use their five senses to discover what science is really all about. The camps are a mix of class sessions, outdoor games, and hands-on applications tailored to a variety of ages. Each camper gets to create, build and assemble different take-home projects.

Quill Kids is a camp geared towards budding authors from 6 to 13 years of age. A recreational day camp, Quill Kids puts excitement and understanding into the process of writing in an informal group setting that makes writing easy and fun.

- Tuition was $85 in 2013

All camps are taught by licensed K-12 teachers who specialize in literacy instruction.
