On average, 38 children die from being left in hot cars each year. Here’s a simple trick to prevent this from happening: after you put your child in the back seat of your car, buckled into their car seat, put something you need back there with them (like your left shoe!). That way if you get distracted or start thinking about other things, your lack of shoe won’t let you forget that your kiddo is in the car too.

Actually, this is a great idea. When you step out of the car, you’ll immediately know you don’t have your shoe on. I’ve heard using other things, like laptop, cell phone, whatever, but I’ve forgotten those from time to time (I’ve never forgotten my child, but obviously people do). Any good ideas to prevent this awful tragedy are great.
